In the quest for better living standards we have relied heavily on technology. We have utilized technology to transport us, enhance our productivity, protect us, entertain us and provide many other functions. The technologies are driven by our needs for better performance, cheaper production, less pollution, more volume and many other specific requirements. These specific requirements or demands will only get more refined with time, needing the use of ever deeper knowledge and higher technology. These are attributes that can only attained with good planning coupled with structured research, development and innovation. UniMAP is geared towards achieving these attributes with planning, vision, and inventiveness. Research is strongly encouraged with ample internal and external grants. A strong industrial link has been forged with various local and multinational corporations to enhance mutual information exchange as well as provide a channel for cooperative problem solving. In addition, high caliber researchers and trained in various fields, capable of transforming ideas into technologies, are an important asset to this university. A well developed research cluster base is also in place for postgraduates to further their specialization and contribute to the national human capital. In total, UniMAP is ready to transform the future of Malaysia’s society with better living technology in all aspects of life. This is ultimately the aim of technology itself – to be able to be used for the comfort and safety of the coming generation. |
